IN-LITE® HUB Transformers
The in-lite® system operates on low voltage 12v power, allowing you to install it all in perfect safety, the only requirement being a plug socket! With a transformer, cable and fittings, you will have your garden installed within a few steps. Best of all, because the in-lite® HUB transformers convert the power from the socket to a safe low voltage, you do not need to dig trenches for your cable!
There are two different options available: the HUB-50 with a maximum combined total VA load of 50VA, and the HUB-100 with a maximum combined total VA load of 100VA. Each transformer contains two 12v cable outlets which are controlled in tandem. Cable can be run from each outlet to power the fittings, up to a maximum run length of 80m per line (if the larger 10/2 gauge cable is used).
The in-lite® HUB transformers don't just supply 12v power to the system, they also control the lighting automatically. They do this using the provided light sensor that detects when it is dark and sends a signal to the transformer to turn on the lighting. Using the push-button display on the front of the transformer, you can adjust how many hours the lighting stays on for after the initial signal from the light sensor is received. For example, if you want your lighting to stay on for 3 hours after the sun goes down, select the "3" option on the display. The light sensor is wired in by default and just needs mounting in an area nearby where it is not affected by artificial light. The distance between the sensor and transformer can be extended using the in-lite® CBL-EXT CORD extension cables. Multiple transformers can be connected to the same light sensor through the use of the SPLITTER accessory.
There is also an optional wired motion sensor available, the MOVE, which can be mounted nearby at a height of 1.8m to 2m. The MOVE motion detector detects up to a distance of 12m when set at this height. Once connected to the transformer, the HUB can be set to turn the lighting on for 1, 3 or 9 minutes after movement is detected. The MOVE comes with 2m of cable by default, but this can be extended up to 20m using the MOVE-EXT CORD 5 extension cables.
The HUB-50 and HUB-100 transformers are rated to IP23 and as such are designed to be installed under cover or indoors away from precipitation or snowfall. If the HUB must be mounted in an area where it is exposed to the elements, the HUB PROTECTOR must be used to prevent damage. The HUBs should be mounted at least 50cm from the ground.
For individually controllable zones and smartphone compatibility, the in-lite® SMART system can be used instead.
Note: They are supplied with 2.3m of cable with a moulded EU plug and UK adaptor. If required, the plug can be cut off and wired to a UK plug instead, allowing it to be fit into a waterproof outdoor socket. Alternatively they can be hardwired to a switched spur. If the wiring is done incorrectly then this will void the warranty.
